Bell played the titular narrator for the teen drama series Gossip Girl. The 2021 sequel will see her reprise the role. Bell was also the Showtime comedian House of Lies' lead actress, Jeannie van de Hooven. Bell starred in the lead character in the role of Eleanor Shellstrop on the critically popular NBC comedy series The Good Place, receiving an Golden Globe Award nomination for her role. Bell was also the lead character on the streaming show The Woman in the house The Girl in the Window, which is across the street from the Girl in the Window.
